It was in 2001 when I ordered RS Classic to Mr. Steve Turpin in US.  His Red Special replica was inexpensive while keeping the oak core like Brian's original.  Because RS Classic still uses Mahogany around the oak centre, it weighs heavier and sounds a bit tighter with its longer sustain.  Mr. Steve Turpin generously accepted my special request to make the neck V-shaped rather than U/C shaped.  I will not sell this guitar customised for me.
